Wirtshaus am Auwaldsee | Menu & Opening Hours

On the southern shore of Auwaldsee in Ingolstadt, the Wirtshaus am Auwaldsee combines regional cuisine, a relaxed lakeside terrace atmosphere, and professional event services under one roof. Managed by the Fritsch family and organized by Seeblick GmbH, the establishment stands for hearty Bavarian classics, seasonal menus, and thoughtful event expertise, ranging from private celebrations to conferences. During opening hours, hot meals are served continuously, and in the afternoons, coffee and freshly baked cakes are available. Those who appreciate nature right by the water will find seating on the lakeside terrace and in the chestnut beer garden with views of the shore, while inside several halls provide different capacities and technical setups. Access is convenient, with free parking available directly in front of the house, and bus line 50 connects to the city. Digital insights are provided through a 360-degree tour, current menus, and seasonal promotions are available online, as well as information on special dates like New Year's Eve or event packages. Thus, a restaurant visit becomes an outing by the lake, and a celebration turns into a day that will be remembered for a long time.

Menu, Seasonal Promotions, and Special Menus

The culinary direction focuses on clear Bavarian cuisine with fresh, regional ingredients. The main menu caters to both classic appetites and upscale meat and fish dishes. Throughout the year, seasonal promotional menus are added that reflect the product diversity of the region. An example is the autumn and winter season when, starting in late October, a menu centered around pumpkin and game is featured. Additionally, there are menus for special occasions and holidays, such as a New Year's Eve menu for the turn of the year. For travel groups, there is a dedicated menu that simplifies processes and makes planning predictable. The kitchen allows the day to flow smoothly, serving quickly and reliably at lunchtime, with cakes and pastries complementing the offer in the afternoon, and in the evening, a wide range from snacks to multi-course menus is available. Guests seeking romantic hours for two can book a candlelight dinner. Here, it's less about spectacular effects and more about harmonious details at the table, from the menu sequence to the atmosphere, which is reflected in the tranquil lakeside location and the attentive, well-organized service culture of the house. For larger groups, the team advises on menu variations and buffet ideas, from regional favorites to grill specialties. Flexibility is one of the strengths: vegetarian alternatives are sensibly integrated without diluting the regional core. The publication of the menus as PDFs ensures that guests can inform themselves in advance and make arrangements. However, for last-minute visitors, it is advisable to check the daily updates, as fresh availability and seasonal demand can lead to adjustments. Especially on weekends and in good weather, reservations are recommended, as the lakeside terrace and beer garden are particularly popular.

Opening Hours, Hot Meals, and Notes on Busy Days

The structure of the opening hours is clear and reliable. Monday is a day off, while on other days, the Wirtshaus usually opens at 11:00. Tuesday to Saturday it is open until 21:00, and on Sundays and public holidays also until 21:00. The hot kitchen operates continuously during opening hours and typically starts at 11:30. On Sundays and public holidays, the serving of hot meals usually ends at 19:00, and on other days at 20:00. This planning supports day guests who come for lunch, as well as walkers who want to take a coffee break with cake by the lake. For evening guests, the continuous kitchen is pleasant because there is no afternoon gap to close. For events, the house extends opening hours as needed. This is particularly important for larger celebrations, which can naturally last longer than regular restaurant operations. Additionally, seasonal special notices are published on the website. Recently, announcements of closing days around December 24 and the turn of the year were included. Those planning a visit during this phase should check the online notice in advance or make a quick phone inquiry. For group reservations and celebrations, early coordination is advisable anyway, so that menu planning, drink selection, and technical arrangements can be prepared on time. The combination of continuous kitchen and planable regular hours creates reliability that many guests appreciate. In everyday life, this means that even later lunches or early dinners are possible without rush. For families with children, this is practical because the lake offers walking paths, allowing for a good combination of dining and staying by the water.

Directions, Parking, and Bus Connection

The Wirtshaus is located at Auwaldsee, conveniently situated on the southern edge of Ingolstadt. For drivers, the approach via the A9 motorway with the Ingolstadt Süd exit is recommended. From there, the route leads towards IN Campus and directly to the lake. Numerous free parking spaces are available in front of the house, which also provide shade. This is pleasant on warm days and facilitates longer stays during celebrations or conferences. For visitors using public transport, bus line 50 is relevant. It stops at the Auwaldsee station, which is just a few minutes' walk from the entrance. Groups can plan their schedules so that arrival and kitchen times harmonize. The route from the city center to the lake is thus uncomplicated and also suitable for out-of-town guests arriving by train and switching to the bus on site. For suppliers, artists, or speakers bringing materials, the premises offer enough space for loading and unloading, with detailed logistics coordinated in advance for events. The clear address Am Auwaldsee 20, 85053 Ingolstadt is practical for navigation systems. Guests arriving early can use the lakeside paths to take a round around the lake before dining. This creates a break from everyday life and is part of the charm of the house for many. Those planning their first visit should take a quick look at the online map and notice page for reservation confirmation. This way, construction work or closures on the last mile can be avoided. The interplay of proximity to the motorway, bus connections, and parking options makes the location an advantage for day-trippers as well as for corporate events with participants from the region.

Rooms, Technology, and Capacities for Celebrations, Conferences, and Weddings

For hosts, the Wirtshaus offers differentiated room options with clearly defined capacities. The centerpiece is the large banquet hall for up to 500 people. The equipment includes a stage, two projectors with screens, and a high-quality sound system. This allows for the professional execution of large weddings, corporate anniversaries, conferences, or product presentations. Those wishing for a smaller but technically solid environment can use the small banquet hall for up to 100 people. There, a projector with a screen and a sound system are also available. For intimate occasions, the Birkenstüberl is suitable, accommodating up to 30 people and providing a cozy atmosphere with the possibility of presentation technology. A special feature is the option to hold outdoor weddings directly by the lake. The natural ambiance creates a stage that impresses without much effort. For culinary concepts, both classic menu service and buffet solutions are available. Grill events are popular, ranging from suckling pig to ox grill. For summer parties or team events, the lakeside terrace is included, which gains a special touch due to its proximity to the water. The event team sees itself as a service provider from the first idea to execution. This includes consulting, scheduling, process management, technical briefing, and coordination with external partners. Those who wish can utilize the house's network, for example, for decoration or nearby hotel contingents. This creates a cohesive solution where details such as lighting, sound, and menu sequence fit together. For conferences, the projection options in the large hall are practical, as main presentations and plenary discussions can be realized there, while breakouts take place in the smaller hall or in the Stüberl. The kitchen delivers timely and reliably from the welcome coffee to dinner. The logistical advantage of having its own parking spaces is also beneficial, as is the calm location by the lake, which allows for breaks outdoors. Those planning for the first time can gain an impression based on the materials provided online and choose the suitable room and seating arrangement in conversation with the team. There is no fixed seating plan in the sense of rigid seating; rather, the placement is coordinated according to the occasion, number of guests, and process.

Lakeside Terrace and Chestnut Beer Garden by the Water

In the outdoor area, the Wirtshaus shows its full strength as a place of relaxation. The lakeside terrace extends close to the shore, with views over the water and the shore trees. Here, the daily cycle can be observed, from noon until evening, while the kitchen serves without pause. The chestnut beer garden complements this area with classic shaded spots that are particularly sought after in summer. In the afternoons, coffee and freshly baked cakes are a fixed part of the offer, attracting walkers and day-trippers as well as guests who stop by after swimming or cycling. The service is routine, and the process is well-rehearsed. Those wishing for a spot by the water should arrive early on sunny weekends or make a reservation. For companies and private groups, the outdoor area can be integrated into event concepts, from receptions to grill evenings. The proximity to the lake creates an atmosphere that is hard to replicate in an urban square. Image galleries and a digital tour convey impressions but cannot replace the experience on-site. In practice, the outdoor area also means that fine transitions between dining, conversation, and a short walk occur. Children can run along the shore while adults remain in sight. The food offerings are suitable for this, as there are not only main dishes but also snacks and smaller plates that can be shared. If the weather changes, the option to move indoors is open, the paths are short, and the team utilizes the routine developed from restaurant operations and event logistics. The symbiosis of location, cuisine, and service makes the lakeside terrace and beer garden a recurring destination for locals and guests.

Reviews, Photos, Jobs, and Frequently Asked Questions

Many guests highlight in reviews the consistent quality and well-organized service, especially for larger groups and family celebrations. The combination of freshly tapped beer, reliable kitchen performance, and the lakeside location is regularly mentioned. Those seeking a first impression can find photo series and a link to a 360-degree tour on the website. For applications and jobs, direct contact through the provided contacts and details is worthwhile. Additionally, job postings appear in regional job portals. Those with questions about reservations, menu adjustments, technology for presentations, or special requests can reach the team by phone and email. The most frequently asked questions revolve around the menu, kitchen times, parking, capacities, and the dog policy. The menus are available as PDFs and are updated seasonally. The kitchen times are continuous within the opening hours, with clear end times for hot meals. Parking spaces are free and shady, and access via the A9 or bus line 50 is uncomplicated. For celebrations, the house offers three room sizes, complemented by the option of an outdoor wedding by the lake. Regarding pets, a pragmatic approach is taken, with a brief phone call recommended in advance, as the website does not publish a blanket rule. Photos provide a vivid impression of the lakeside terrace, banquet hall, and beer garden. They show how flexibly the place transforms, from a romantic candlelight dinner to a conference with projection technology. Those wanting detailed information should also check the website's sitemap. All topic areas are quickly accessible, from weddings to events and conferences to contact and directions.

We regularly come here for family celebrations and are always very satisfied with the organization, the premises, and of course the food. The service is very friendly and well organized, so we can always eat at the same time even though we are so many people. The quality of the food is consistently high and it’s always very tasty.

We had a candlelight dinner at the restaurant and it was our first time there. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was very delicious and the waitress was very friendly. We will definitely visit the restaurant again.

Very delicious food! Even though the outdoor area was very crowded, we still easily got a table for 5 people. The beer was freshly tapped and tasted great. Orders were also handled quickly – food and drinks arrived at the table fast. Plus, a beautiful location by the Auwaldsee – absolutely recommendable!

We have been here several times. The location is really beautiful. Especially during Christmas time, you really get a cozy cabin vibe. It’s all the more disappointing that sometimes the food doesn’t leave the kitchen with the same standard. What I mean is – for example, fries – way too hard and greasy (see example picture) or chicken tough and sauce clotted. After we complained to the staff, we received the fries and the corresponding meal again – in significantly better quality. Please hold the kitchen to the standard that the food simply comes to the guest in great quality – just like the beauty of the location radiates.

We were really lucky with our choice of the inn at Auwaldsee on the A9. We were on our way back from Austria to Berlin and were looking for a place where we could eat and drink well. We found that here. Great atmosphere, both inside and outside. Nice selection of dishes and the food itself is top-notch! Very tasty and lovingly presented. Good value for money! We especially want to mention the friendly service. We noticed that the entire staff is very friendly and attentive to everyone. There are enough clean restrooms available. You can park for free on the street.
